This post comes with a full listing of GED testing locations and prep facilities in the Springfield area. Ohio is offering two options for high school equivalency testing, the GED and HiSET.
The GED and HiSET exams are available in an online format and at official Ohio HSE test centers.
The exams offer adults who could not complete their HS curriculum the chance to acquire an equivalent credential.
Both the GED® and HiSET® measure knowledge at a similar level as may be expected of students when they graduate high school.
GED testing occurs via four independent subtests (or modules) in Math, Literacy, Science, and Social Studies.
You have the freedom to sit for one of the GED tests whenever you are ready to do so.
The five HiSET subtests (Literacy is split into writing and reading tests) may also be dealt with separately.

The HiSET can be taken both on paper and on a computer, while the GED is offered exclusively in a computer-based format.
In the past, you couldn’t take the exams over the Internet. Recently, however, we saw the introduction of both a GED and a HiSET online testing option. Read more below.

Welcoming An Online HiSET And GED Option
In earlier days, students looking to secure their Ohio high school equivalency (HSE) diplomas had to show up in person at one of Ohio’s official testing sites. There simply was never an online testing option. Recently, however, we’ve seen the launch of both GED and HiSET online proctored testing options.
If you want to get more informed about the newly launched HiSET online proctored test, go to this page: ‘The online HiSET exam,’ and if you want to read more about the online GED testing option, go to this post: ‘The online GED test.’

Prepare Well
When you think about getting your HiSET or GED diploma, keep in mind that preparation is crucial, and people who invest time in preparing for their exams generally do much better than those who don’t. They really increase the odds of being successful on the first try.
Research indicates that test-takers who were well-prepared well and had taken a practice test were way more likely to successfully take the entire set of four tests (GED) or five tests (HiSET) than any other group of applicants.
