This article lists all GED® prep locations and testing sites in and around Sierra Vista. Arizona uses the GED (General Educational Development) exam for high school equivalency (HSE) testing.
There is now also an option to take the GED test online. Test-takers need to attain “green” scores on the GED Ready® official practice test to qualify for online testing. Read more below.
The HSE program offers people who didn’t graduate high school one more shot at earning an equivalent degree.
The GED exam includes four separate subtests that measure basic knowledge that students are taught in four years of high school.
The subject tests are in literacy, math, science, and social studies, and you can sit for these subject tests separately.
Arizona GED testers must additionally take and pass the state’s Civics Exam.

Online GED testing now available
It is now an option to take the GED test over the internet. In the past, you had to come in-person to a state-approved Arizona GED test center if you wished to secure a GED diploma.
Fortunately, that has now changed and the GED test is now available in an online format as well. An online proctor will be guiding you through the entire process. For more information check out: introducing online GED testing.
Four independent GED subtests
There’s no need to take the entire GED battery in one session. You can take the four tests one at a time. The GED credential allows people to further their academic education and advance in the employment market. The GED passing score on each subtest is 145 out of 200 points.
