GED Classes Sandy, Utah

This post shows all GED® prep class locations and testing sites in the Sandy region. Utah uses the computer-formatted GED exam for its high school equivalency (HSE) program.

GED testing is offered in an online format and at state-approved test centers.

The HSE test allows adults who didn’t graduate high school the chance to acquire an equivalent diploma.

The GED comes with four subtests in Science, Math, Literacy, and Social Studies that may be completed separately.

In the past, online GED testing was not an option. Personal appearance at a state-certified GED test center was needed.

There have been some interesting developments, though, with the introduction of an online proctored GED testing option. Learn more below at the bottom of this post.

GED Essay Sample & Tips

For who is the GED exam?

The GED (General Education Development) test is especially for persons who never finished high school and offers them another opportunity to get hold of a comparable diploma. Go to GED testing in Utah to see if you qualify for the GED program.

When you pass the Utah GED exam you will be awarded the Utah High School Completion Diploma which is all over the country recognized as being equivalent to a normal high school diploma by employers, governmental organizations, and universities.

The GED (General Education Development) Diploma, also known as the Utah High School Equivalency Diploma, demonstrates proof of successful completion of an alternative path toward a high school education.

GED passing score

The GED  tests are measured on a scale of 100 to 200 points, with a passing standard of 145 points on each of the four test modules, so no less than 580 points in total.

100-144: Below Passing Score
145-164: Passing Score (high school equivalency)
165-174: College-Ready Score
175-200: College-Ready + College Credit Score

Launching an online GED testing option

In earlier days, GED testing over the internet was never possible. To acquire your GED degree, you needed to appear personally at one of Utah’s state-approved GED testing facilities.

Well, that has ended now as we saw the introduction of an online option to take the four GED subtests. An online proctor will monitor if all goes in accordance with the regulations. To learn more, visit Introducing an online GED test-taking option.
