GED Classes Rancho Cordova, California

In this article, we list all GED® prep locations and test centers in the Rancho Cordova area.

California is using multiple options for its HSE (high school equivalency) testing program.

The HSE program is geared towards adults who left high school prematurely and offers the chance to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED (General Education Development) exam is fully computerized and has four separate subject tests.

These subtests are in Literacy, Math, Social Studies, and Science and you have two years to complete the entire battery.

The TASC and HiSET include five tests as the Language section is divided into separate reading and writing tests.

These subtests can also be taken separately. TASC and HiSET testing can be done on-paper or on-computer.

How to stay perfectly motivated

What motivates people to get the HSE diploma?

There is something that motivates people to enroll in HSE (high school equivalency) classes. Is it that HSE diploma opens the door for new opportunities in your career? Could the reason be that the HSE diploma allows you to pursue higher education? It could be. When it comes to choosing a career, you should be careful to weigh your options. This decision is always a tough one. All young people have many options to choose from but so does everyone else. It doesn’t matter how old you are; what matters is that you make a smart career choice. For eligibility criteria check out this post: GED testing in California.

The secret is simple in this case: find a career that makes you happy and allows you to realize your full potential. For a start, identify an occupation that you are good at. If you have no idea as to how you should even begin, ask the people around you about activities which you are good at. Factor in your hobbies and interests and you’ll be good to go. Once you have acquired the HSE Diploma the world opens up for you. You can change careers regardless of how long you have been working at your current job.

Who doesn’t yearn for a better job? Professional athletes make career choices whenever they retire from sports or get past their peak. Stay-at-home moms with kids suddenly find themselves wanting to do something worthwhile instead of just staying at home. Did you know that the average person makes 2 to 5 career changes from the time they start working to the time they retire? Career switching is not a new phenomenon so get your HSE diploma and look for a better job. Nothing should stop you from getting that dream job. Nothing.

The GED, TASC, and HiSET exams are created to offer high school dropouts one more chance to obtain a credential that allows them to enter higher education and get a good job or career advancement. But each and every year, hundreds of thousands of teenagers sit for the exam before their (former) classmates had a chance to graduate as regular high school is four years.

The California GED exam costs $140 ($35 per module) and must be taken on a computer. TASC and HiSET can be done both on a computer and on paper (at most test centers) and are slightly cheaper. Virtually all postsecondary education institutions and licensing boards, as well as most branches of the army, are accepting the GED, HiSET, or TASC diploma just like a standard H.S. diploma. Please check with a testing site near you which exam(s) they offer.

This has been raising concerns that perhaps too many youngsters are going after their HSE credential instead of pursuing the first chance to get an actually more valuable high school diploma. There are educators and officials who are advocating stricter GED age requirements and limits for younger teens. You might say that the system is making it easy for these youngsters to make a mistake, as easier access to HSE tests induces many young people to quit high school too early.
