This article posts all GED® (HiSET in Missouri) prep facilities and testing sites in the Jefferson City area. Missouri is using the HiSET for its HSE (high school equivalency) testing program.
HSE testing offers individuals who did not finish high school the chance to earn a degree that’s equivalent to a common HS diploma.
The HiSET assesses knowledge at a level similar to what HS students must command when they graduate.
The HiSET has five subtests in the fields of Language Reading, Language Writing, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
The HiSET is offered both in a computerized format and in a paper-and-pencil version.
Online HiSET (or GED) testing was not possible. Testing needed to be done at official Missouri HSE testing sites. Now, however, there was also an online testing option introduced. Read more below.
Recently, Missouri passed legislation to waive the HiSET testing fee (98,75) for first-time test-takers.

Online HiSET test introduced
It was never possible to take either the HiSET or GED exam online. But recently, we’ve seen some major changes and now, you can take the five HiSET subtests also in an online format. A proctor will see if your HiSET test-taking activities are in accordance with the regulations. To read more about the HiSET-At-Home online testing option, visit this post: Online HiSET testing introduced.
Missouri stopped using the GED exam for its HSE program a few years back. The state decided to opt for the HiSET exam for that purpose. The GED had become too expensive and is only offered in a computer-formatted version while the HiSET is available in a paper-based edition as well.
