GED Classes North Platte, Nebraska

In this article, you can find all GED® prep class locations and testing sites in the North Platte region. Nebraska offers the GED exam for high school equivalency (HSE) testing.

GED testing can be done online and at certified Nebraska GED testing facilities.

HSE testing offers persons who could not finish high school another chance to acquire an equivalent degree.

The computer-based GED test has four independent modules (subtests) in Science, Literacy, Math, and Social Studies.

You have the option to sit for one or more GED subtests at a time. There’s no need to deal with all four tests in one session.

Across the nation, the GED credential is recognized just like a general high school degree.

In earlier days, online GED testing was not possible. You needed to show up in person at an official Nebraska test center.

However, with the arrival of a new online proctored GED testing option, that has now changed. Read more below at the bottom of this page.

GED passing score

The minimally required score on each of the four modules is 145. Scoring takes place on a 100-200 scale and averaging is not possible meaning your total score cannot be under 580.

The GED exam is a set of four tests that measure your knowledge about general subject fields taught in four-year high school education. For eligibility criteria visit GED testing in Nebraska.

Virtually all colleges and employers accept the GED diploma as equivalent to a high school degree, and if you already have a high school degree you won’t need a GED diploma. However, if you did not finish high school, you would want to get the GED diploma as many employers require a secondary degree (high school or GED diploma) for employment or job promotions.

Online GED testing

Sitting for the GED test over the internet was, until recently, never an option. If you were looking to get hold of a GED diploma in Nebraska, you personally had to come to an official GED testing facility.

Now, however, we have seen a great new development as an online version of the GED test was launched, which changed all of that. To read more about this great new development, go to this post: ‘Launching a new online GED testing option’.
