GED Classes Frankfort, Kentucky

This article lets you discover all GED® prep sites and testing centers in and around Frankfort. The GED offers individuals who left high school before graduating the chance to get hold of an equivalent credential.

The GED test is given at official Kentucky GED test centers and in an online format.

The GED measures knowledge and competencies at the same level as can be expected of graduating high school seniors.

The GED (General Education Development) exam comes with four individual tests, or modules in math, science, literacy, and social studies.

You have the freedom to complete these four GED subtests one at a time.

All over North America, employers and educational institutions accept the GED diploma just like a high school diploma.

The GED test was, until recently, not available over the internet. You had to show up at an official Kentucky testing center, but the arrival of an online GED testing option has changed that. Read more below.

Online GED testing option introduced

Until recently, GED testing via the internet was not possible. Personal appearance at one of Kentucky’s official GED test centers was required if you wished to secure a Kentucky GED diploma. Well, the introduction of a new, online, proctored GED testing option has changed all of that.

You can now also deal with the four GED modules through a new, online testing format where a proctor guides you through the online process and checks if everything happens in line with the regulations. Visit ‘Introducing a new online GED test-taking option’ to learn more.

GED cost

The fee for taking the entire set of four GED tests has been lowered for a limited period of time in Kentucky. Kentucky adults who qualify, are now able to take each of the four tests of the GED exam at a lowered fee of $10, whereas the regular cost per module is $30 ($120 for the whole set of four tests).

This great offer for Kentuckians has been made possible by using federal Workforce Investment Act funds to issue $20 vouchers per test ($80 in total). This special offer makes it possible that the entire GED exam is now offered at a special price of $40, which is a saving of $80. This special offer is offered only for a limited time and while supplies last, and available through the website of GED Testing Service, GED.com.

When you sign up for the portal MyGED you will be guided toward the special offer. GED Testing Service developed the new version of the GED program and is a joint venture of the American Council on Education (ACE) and the leading assessment developer Pearson. So that’s it for GED prep locations and testing centers in the Frankfort KY region.
