GED Classes Fort Myers, Florida

Listed on this page are all GED® prep classes and testing sites in the Fort Myers region.

Florida uses the fully computer-based GED exam for its high school equivalency (HSE) testing program.

The GED is for adult learners who could not complete high school and gives them the chance to earn an equivalent degree.

The GED exam comes with four individual modules or subtests in Math, Science, Social Studies, and Literacy.

You can take (and pay for) these subtests one at a time as long as you complete the entire battery within two years.

GED testing over the internet is NOT an option. Testing is done at state-designated testing centers and websites with a different message commit fraud!

Who is the GED for?

The GED (General Education Development) program was set up to assist adults who did not finish high school, with their efforts to get an equivalent diploma. The certificate that is awarded upon successful completion of the Florida GED examination, is accepted and recognized as having the same value as a regular high school diploma. State and federal government institutions. corporations, colleges, and universities, they all view the GED certificate as equivalent to a high school diploma.

About Fort Myers

Fort Myers (population 68,000) is the commercial center and seat of Lee County. The city is an important tourist destination and a gateway to Southwest Florida. Fort Myers (“City of Palms”) is situated on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River, and the majority of visitors come for the city’s golf courses, for deep-sea fishing, for the stunning white sand beaches, or to visit beautiful Gulf Coast islands such as Captiva and Sanibel (check out Sanibel Lighthouse and the Fishing Pier).

Don’t forget to visit the former winter estates of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. In 1916, Henry Ford bought land next door to his mentor Thomas Edison. Both estates now are museums that celebrate and honor the lives and accomplishments of the founders.
