The GED® (General Education Development) is for individuals who never completed high school.
The assessment offers them one more chance to get hold of a credential that is accepted in the same way as a common high school diploma.
The GED exam measures basic knowledge at the same level that may be expected of high school graduates.
There are four individual subtests in Social Studies, Math, Literacy, and Science that may be taken separately.

Free Alabama GED Online ClassesIntroducing The Online GED Test
Taking the GED test online is now an option as well. It used to be that, to earn a GED diploma, students were required to appear in person at one of Alabama’s official GED testing centers.
Fortunately, this has changed with the introduction of the online version of the GED exam that uses an online proctor. For more information, check out this page: online GED testing.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible, you cannot be in another school program and not already have a secondary education diploma from a public or private school. You must be at least 18 years of age, and when you are younger, you need to meet certain extra restrictions; see a GED testing site near you.
The GED exam is a nationally recognized reference examination that in the past was created by the nonprofit organization ACE (The American Council on Education). This organization was purchased by the for-profit company Pearson VUE. This company has developed the latest computer-formatted version of the GED exam.
No More Paper-Based Testing
The paper-based format of the GED test has totally been done away with; everything is now done on a computer. As a result, facilities that offer preparatory classes for the GED exam have to train applicants in keyboarding skills as well.
In our modern world, it is essential that you have the proper education credentials, and if you don’t, you’ll have a hard time getting ahead. In case you are considering acquiring your GED (General Education Development) credential in Alabama, you here can find the proper information you are going to need to get this valuable diploma.
