What is the Essay Introduction?

The essay introduction is always found at the beginning of your essay. This introduction is critically important.

When someone will be reading your essay they start with the introduction. So if your introduction is badly or poorly written, the reader may well stop here and not even want to read the rest of the essay.

Okay, remember that your introduction will read first and basically, you’ll want to make a pretty good impression with the introduction.

If someone will be reading your entire piece no matter what, say like they’ll be grading your essay. And when they’ve read your introduction, they’ll need to have an idea of what the rest of your essay will be all about.

When your introduction is written and constructed poorly, then, when they’ll be going ahead, they’ll be expecting your entire essay to be poorly constructed and poorly written.

So you really should try hard to make a very good impression with your essay’s introduction. When your essay is really well-composed and well-constructed, your teacher will automatically assume the rest of your essay to that way as well. The introduction has to include your essay’s thesis statement.

The thesis statement states what your entire essay will be all about. So, therefore, it makes all the sense in the world that is put in your introduction, at the start of your essay. This way, your reader will have a good understanding of what the essay will be about.

Your introduction will also tell what your essay is going to cover. It’ll give your readers an idea of what will follow. It is setting the stage for the remainder of your essay.

And finally, it is containing an explanation or a small summary.
