Posted here is an overview of GED prep locations and testing sites in the Boca Raton area. To earn your high school equivalency diploma in Florida, you’ll need to pass the GED test.
GED testing is possible online and at state-certified test centers. For more details about the online GED exam, check below.
The exam gives persons who never graduated high school one more shot at obtaining an equivalent credential.
The GED® measures knowledge at a level that’s comparable to what high school students are expected to master upon graduation.
There are four separate GED subtests, or modules, that cover the subject areas of Math, Literacy, Science, and Social Studies.
The four GED modules (or subtests) can be taken separately. No need to complete the entire GED battery at once.

Introducing An Online GED Testing Option
Taking the computer-based GED exam over the Internet was, until recently, not an option. To acquire a GED diploma, your personal appearance at an official Florida GED test center was required.
Well, that has now changed with the introduction of the online, proctored GED testing option. An online proctor will guide you through the test-taking process and check if all goes according to the rules. Go to ‘Introducing the online GED test’ for more detailed information.
Please note that there are no discounted retakes available when you take the online GED test at home. Retakes at discounted rates are only offered if you take the exam at a test facility.
GED Passing Score
On each of the four independent GED subtests, you must reach at least a 145 score. The subtests are scored on a 100 to 200 scale, and there is no averaging! Scores in the 145-164 category are high school equivalent scores; in the 165-174 range are college-ready scores; results in the 175-200 category are college-ready scores + up to 10 college credits.
Age Requirements
In Florida, there are no residency requirements for GED test-takers 18 years of age or older. Students 16 and 17 years old, however, are required to submit an Underage Waiver signed by a representative from their school districts.
GED Applicants 18 years old or older are not required to attend a prep course or attain satisfactory scores on the GED Ready® test. School districts may, however, require underage testers (those 16 and 17 years of age) to take prep classes.
Underage test-takers should contact a representative from their school districts (in which they live or went to school) for more information.
